We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our nursing home back-office legal team. The ideal candidate will support in-house counsel in transactional work and take a lead role in overseeing our compliance program, ensuring that all corporate entities remain up to date with state and federal requirements. This role is essential for managing specialized documentation necessary for long-term care administration and assisting our facilities with the preparation and filing of guardianship papers and other court-mandated documents. You will also provide critical support for real estate closings and property-related transactions as our organization grows. Beyond these specialized tasks, you will manage general legal matters, maintain organized case files, and serve as a vital link between our facilities and legal counsel to ensure every location operates smoothly and within legal guidelines.
Responsibilities
Assist in-house counsel with legal research regarding healthcare regulations and corporate law Oversee the corporate compliance program to ensure all entities meet filing and licensing deadlines Prepare and review legal documents including contracts, real estate closing papers, and corporate resolutions Manage the filing process for guardianship petitions and other facility-specific court documents Maintain comprehensive case files and corporate records using document management systems Draft correspondence, memos, and reports related to healthcare operations and general legal matters Support project management for real estate transactions and facility acquisitions to ensure deadlines are met Maintain accurate data entry and filing systems for all facility legal documentation Provide administrative support such as proofreading and organizing legal files for state surveys or audits Assist with communication between facility administrators and outside counsel while maintaining professional etiquette Support attorneys with administrative tasks related to corporate governance and litigation management
Requirements
Proven paralegal experience with a focus on corporate maintenance, real estate, or healthcare law Strong research skills and familiarity with legal research tools and case management software Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage compliance schedules for multiple entities simultaneously Proficiency in legal drafting, proofreading, and the preparation of guardianship or probate documents Experience with real estate closing processes and corporate entity management Knowledge of legal procedures related to healthcare filings and contract administration Effective communication skills for interacting with facility staff, court clerks, and legal professionals Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced back-office environment Strong attention to detail necessary for managing complex regulatory documents and sensitive resident files
