Job Overview
The Shipping & Receiving Lead is responsible for leading daily shipping, receiving, and internal material flow operations, ensuring that all physical movements are executed efficiently and that all associated inventory transactions are completed accurately and in real time. This role acts as the first line of execution control, overseeing warehouse activities on the floor and ensuring adherence to transaction discipline, safety standards, and operational procedures established by the Logistics and Inventory Supervisor. The Shipping & Receiving Lead coordinates the work of Shipping & Receiving Clerks, ensures timely material flow between facilities, and serves as the primary point of escalation for day-to-day operational issues.

Requirements
1. Daily Operations & Execution Leadership
- Lead and coordinate daily shipping, receiving, and material handling activities.
- Assign and prioritize tasks for Shipping & Receiving Clerks.
- Ensure all daily operations are completed accurately, safely, and on time.
- Supervise loading and unloading of trucks, staging, and material handling activities.
- Maintain smooth workflow across all warehouse areas.
2. Transaction Execution & System Discipline
- Ensure all shipping, receiving, and material movement activities are accurately recorded in the system in real time.
- Enforce the principle that no physical movement occurs without a corresponding system transaction.
- Verify completeness and accuracy of all transactions like Receipts, Transfers (including inter-building movements), Shipments, Returns Support and guide team members in proper ERP/system usage. Also, Identify, correct, and escalate transaction errors or delays.
3. Internal Material Flow Coordination
- Coordinate daily material flow between multiple warehouse.
- Ensure timely movement of materials to support production and shipping needs.
- Ensure all internal transfers are properly executed and recorded.
- Optimize flow and minimize delays or bottlenecks.
4. Shipping & Receiving Operations
- Oversee inbound and outbound shipments to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Verify receiving documentation and ensure proper system entry.
- Ensure all outgoing shipments are correctly.
- Coordinate with carriers and internal teams to meet delivery schedules.
5. Team Coordination & Training
- Provide hands-on leadership and direction to Shipping & Receiving Clerks.
- Train team members on Transaction procedures, Material handling practices and Safety requirements
- Reinforce accountability, accuracy, and adherence to procedures.
- Support onboarding of new employees.
6. Escalation & Communication
- Act as the first point of contact for operational issues.
- Resolve day-to-day challenges or escalate to the Logistics and Inventory Supervisor as needed.
- Communicate delays, discrepancies, or risks impacting operations.
- Provide feedback on recurring issues, inefficiencies, or training gaps.
7. Standards, Compliance & Safety
- Ensure strict adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Maintain proper material identification, labeling, and traceability.
- Operate all equipment safely, including forklifts and material handling tools.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety regulations, Company safety policies and Hazardous materials handling requirements
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.
