Position Summary
The Logistics and Inventory Supervisor is responsible for owning the accuracy, timeliness, and discipline of all inventory transactions across Finished Goods, Raw Materials, and Packaging Materials warehouses. This role ensures that all material movements are executed and recorded correctly and in real time by the warehouse team, enabling reliable data for Production Planning, Procurement, Finance, and Operations. The Logistics and Inventory Supervisor lead a team consisting of a Shipping & Receiving Lead and Shipping & Receiving Clerks, establishing operational standards, and drives continuous improvement as an agent of change. This role does not own inventory level decisions but ensures that the transactional foundation required for effective planning and purchasing is accurate, complete, and reliable. Core Role Principle: Team executes transactions, Supervisor owns transaction integrity, discipline, and performance. Operates in Haz Mat Environment and accountable for safety at the workplace and meeting DOT Standards.

Key Responsibilities
1. Inventory Transaction Ownership (Primary Responsibility)
- Own the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of all inventory transactions.
- Ensure all material movements are recorded in the ERP/MRP system in real time.
- Enforce the principle that no physical movement occurs without a corresponding system transaction.
- Oversee execution of transactions including:
- Receipts
- Transfers (including inter-building movements)
- Production consumption
- Packaging and Raw Material usage
- Finished goods completion
- Shipments
- Returns
- Adjustments
- Review daily transaction activity for completeness and accuracy.
- Investigate discrepancies and lead root cause analysis.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions to eliminate recurring issues.
- Maintain overall accountability for transaction integrity across all warehouses.
2. Warehouse Execution Oversight
- Oversee material flow across: Finished Goods warehouse, Raw Materials warehouse, Packaging Materials warehouse
- Ensure alignment between physical operations and system transactions.
- Maintain traceability, material identification, and FIFO/FEFO practices.
- Ensure proper staging, storage, and handling practices.
- Monitor execution performance without directly managing daily floor operations.
3. Team Leadership & Supervision
- Lead, coach, and develop the Shipping & Receiving Lead and Clerks.
- Establish clear accountability for transaction execution at the team level.
- Delegate daily operational coordination to the Shipping & Receiving Lead.
- Ensure team adherence to transaction procedures and operational standards.
- Provide training on ERP transactions, material handling, and process discipline.
- Evaluate team performance based on accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
- Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and operational excellence.
4. Daily Operations Governance
- Ensure effective daily coordination of: Receiving, Put-away, Internal material transfers (main building ↔ RM & Packaging warehouses), Order picking and shipping
- Monitor execution through the Shipping & Receiving Lead.
- Ensure all transactions are completed in alignment with physical activities.
- Support escalation and resolution of operational issues.
5. Vendor Performance Analysis & Improvement
- Monitor and evaluate performance of inbound and outbound logistics vendors.
- Analyze key metrics including:
- On-time delivery and pickup
- Shipment accuracy
- Damage rates
- Lead time reliability
- Identify vendor-related issues impacting operations or customer service.
- Conduct root cause analysis of logistics disruptions.
- Develop data-driven recommendations for vendor performance improvements.
- Collaborate with Procurement on vendor reviews and improvement actions.
- Support evaluation and potential selection or replacement of vendors.
6. Process Improvement & Change Leadership (Agent of Change)
- Act as an agent of change to improve transaction discipline and operational efficiency.
- Identify inefficiencies in transaction processes and warehouse operations.
- Standardize workflows and develop clear SOPs.
- Drive initiatives to:
- Reduce transaction delays
- Eliminate manual or duplicate entries
- Improve system accuracy
- Lead improvements in warehouse layout and material flow.
- Support ERP/MRP system enhancements and adoption of scanning/automation tools.
- Promote data-driven decision-making within warehouse operations.
7. Advanced Responsibilities
- Lead annual physical inventory execution and coordination.
- Develop and maintain transaction audit routines.
- Support Finance in reconciliation and audit readiness.
- Generate and analyze performance reports related to inventory and logistics.
- Maintain warehouse organization and transaction discipline standards.
- Drive reduction of transaction backlogs and recurring errors.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Operations preferred.
- 5 years’ experience in warehouse, logistics, or inventory control roles.
- Prior supervisory or team leadership experience required.
- Strong experience with ERP/MRP systems and inventory transactions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analytics tools Pivot Tables / Power BI.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and material flow and space utilization.
- Forklift Operator Certification on Electric and Gas equipment are preferred.
- 2 years’ Experience in Hazardous Material and hold DOT certification are preferred.
