Human Resources Manager
Location: Houston, TX (Hybrid)
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to lead and support a broad range of HR functions including employee relations, talent acquisition, compensation and benefits, performance management, organizational development, HRIS administration, and workforce planning. The ideal candidate will serve as a strategic business partner to leadership while ensuring effective execution of HR programs that support organizational goals and employee engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Human Resources Leadership
- Manage day-to-day HR operations and provide guidance to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Partner with business leaders to develop workforce strategies that align with company objectives.
- Support organizational design, restructuring initiatives, and change management activities.
- Drive employee engagement and culture-building initiatives across the organization.
Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
- Lead full-cycle recruitment efforts for professional, technical, and leadership positions.
- Develop recruiting strategies to attract top talent in competitive markets.
- Partner with hiring managers on workforce planning and succession planning initiatives.
- Oversee onboarding programs to ensure successful employee integration.
Employee Relations & Compliance
- Investigate and resolve employee relations matters, complaints, and workplace concerns.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws including FMLA, FLSA, ADA, EEO, and related regulations.
- Provide coaching and guidance to managers regarding performance management and disciplinary actions.
- Support labor relations activities and maintain positive employee relations.
Compensation, Benefits & Total Rewards
- Administer compensation programs, salary reviews, and annual merit processes.
- Support benefits administration, open enrollment, vendor management, and employee communications.
- Analyze market trends and compensation data to ensure competitive pay practices.
- Assist in the development and implementation of total rewards programs.
HR Systems & Process Improvement
- Maintain and optimize HRIS platforms including Workday, ADP, SAP, Oracle, or similar systems.
- Generate HR metrics, reports, and workforce analytics to support business decisions.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices.
- Participate in HR technology implementations and upgrades.
Organizational Development & Training
- Support leadership development, succession planning, and employee development programs.
- Coordinate performance management processes and talent review initiatives.
- Facilitate training programs related to compliance, leadership, and employee development.
- Assist with change management initiatives during organizational growth and transformation.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 8 years of progressive Human Resources experience.
- Experience supporting multiple HR disciplines including employee relations, recruiting, compensation, benefits, and HRIS.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
- Experience with HRIS systems such as Workday, SAP, ADP, Oracle, or PeopleSoft.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred
- MBA or advanced degree.
- PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or PMP certification.
- Experience supporting multi-site or global organizations.
- Background in manufacturing, healthcare, technology, energy, or industrial environments.
- Experience with mergers and acquisitions, organizational design, and change management initiatives.
