About the Opportunity

A well-established civil defense litigation firm with a strong regional presence is seeking a Workers Compensation Attorney to join its dedicated practice group. The firm represents insurers, self-insured employers, and a wide range of organizational clients, focusing on the defense and resolution of workers compensation matters throughout multiple Mid-Atlantic jurisdictions.

This role is ideal for an attorney who thrives in a fast-paced litigation environment and enjoys interpreting, applying, and navigating complex workers compensation laws and regulatory frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of workers compensation defense litigation, including pleadings, discovery, hearings, depositions, mediations, and appeals.
• Provide legal analysis and risk assessments to insurers, employers, and related stakeholders.
• Develop case strategies focused on timely and cost-effective resolution.
• Appear before state workers compensation boards, administrative agencies, and state or federal courts as required.
• Advise clients on related employment and insurance coverage issues, including subrogation and regulatory compliance matters.
• Maintain high standards of professional integrity while collaborating with colleagues across multiple practice areas.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school and active bar membership in Pennsylvania
• 2 to 7 years of experience in workers compensation litigation or closely related insurance defense practice.
• Strong knowledge of state-specific workers compensation statutes, regulations, and procedural rules.
• Excellent communication, case management, and client counseling skills.
• Ability to work independently in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical abilities.
