Survey Manager

CyberCoders
Morris, IL Full Time
POSTED ON 6/27/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 1/12/2027

About the Opportunity

We are a well-established, PCI and NPCA-certified manufacturing company with over 50 years of experience producing specialized structural concrete components for major infrastructure projects across the Midwest. Our facility is home to a highly skilled team dedicated to precision manufacturing, quality control, and on-time delivery for some of the most complex transportation and infrastructure projects in the region. We are currently ramping up for a large-scale, multi-year project and are looking to bring on a Survey Manager to lead geometry control and measurement operations on-site.

The Role

This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for overseeing all surveying and geometry control activities tied to production operations. The Survey Manager will lead a small team of survey technicians, ensure measurement accuracy across all manufactured components, and serve as the internal authority on all things related to dimensional control and survey data management. This is not a purely administrative role - you will be working in the field, operating equipment, and solving problems in real time.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

-       Lead and supervise a survey crew of 2 technicians, assigning daily tasks, directing field operations, and providing coaching and instruction to support accurate, efficient survey completion

-       Operate total station equipment and other surveying instruments to capture precise dimensional measurements on manufactured concrete components

-       Gather all project and field data required to prepare for each survey assignment and allocate crew resources efficiently

-       Plan, review, and verify survey and geometry control work against project specifications and quality requirements

-       Accurately track, record, and document the complete lifecycle of geometry control data for each individual component throughout the production process

-       Maintain organized and up-to-date survey records, notes, drawings, and sketches in accordance with project standards

-       Consult with operations management, quality personnel, and project staff to provide accurate survey information and timely problem resolution

-       Maintain equipment inventory and ensure all instruments are properly calibrated and field-ready

-       Communicate clearly with team members and cross-functional stakeholders on survey status, findings, and any dimensional issues requiring attention

Required Skills and Qualifications

-       3 or more years of hands-on surveying experience, ideally in construction, heavy civil, infrastructure, or manufacturing environments

-       Proficiency operating total station equipment and other precision measurement instruments

-       Strong understanding of geometry control principles, measurement accuracy, and quality documentation

-       Ability to lead and supervise a small crew in a fast-paced production environment

-       Competence reading and interpreting blueprints, project plans, and technical drawings

-       Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage detailed documentation across multiple active components

-       Effective communicator - able to relay technical findings clearly to both field crews and management

-       Self-directed and capable of working independently once oriented to the scope of work

-       Solid computer skills; familiarity with data entry and measurement tracking

-       A degree in engineering, surveying, construction management, or a related field is preferred but equivalent experience will be considered

-       No professional land surveyor license required - this is a production and manufacturing environment, not land boundary work

Why This Role Stands Out

-       Join a high-profile, multi-year project that will have a lasting impact on regional transportation infrastructure

-       Be part of a tenured, tight-knit team known for quality and precision in a specialized manufacturing niche

-       Competitive base salary ($80K-$95K) with a meaningful performance-based bonus (historically 20 to 25 percent of salary) and a full benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401K with company match, profit sharing, and PTO

-       Fully on-site role at a single, well-equipped facility - no travel required

-       Upward mobility available as the company continues to grow and take on additional projects
