Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement supply chain strategy aligned with business goals for food, dairy, meat, chicken, and frozen foods product lines.
- Lead demand planning, production scheduling, and inventory optimization to ensure service levels while minimizing waste and obsolescence.
- Oversee procurement and supplier management, including sourcing, contract negotiation, performance monitoring, and risk mitigation for raw materials and packaging.
- Ensure full compliance with FDA and USDA regulations, food safety standards (e.g., HACCP, SQF/BRC where applicable), and all relevant labeling and traceability requirements.
- Manage cold chain logistics, warehousing, and distribution to preserve product integrity for frozen and refrigerated goods.
- Collaborate with quality, operations, and R&D teams to support new product launches, change management, and shelflife requirements.
- Implement and maintain ERP and supply chain systems (e.g., forecast, MRP) and use data analytics and KPIs to drive decision making and continuous improvement.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a crossfunctional supply chain team, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and operational excellence.
- Develop contingency plans and business continuity strategies to manage disruptions in supply, transportation, or regulatory changes.
- Drive cost reduction initiatives, supplier consolidation, and process improvements using Lean/Six Sigma principles.
- Bachelors degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Food Science, Business, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 10 years of progressive supply chain experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the food industry (dairy, meat, poultry, frozen foods preferred).
- Demonstrated knowledge of FDA and USDA regulations, food safety programs (HACCP, SQF, BRC), and product traceability requirements.
- Proven experience managing cold chain logistics, refrigerated/frozen warehousing, and distribution networks.
- Strong procurement and supplier relationship management experience, including contract negotiation and cost management.
- Handson experience with ERP/MRP systems and supply chain analytics tools; proficiency in forecasting and inventory optimization methodologies.
- Track record of implementing continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma) that delivered measurable cost, quality, or service gains.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills with experience building and developing highperforming teams.
- Ability to travel as required and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, regulated environment.
- Preferred certifications: CPIM, CSCP, Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt), HACCP, or food safety certifications.
