Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Superintendent to oversee and manage construction projects within the healthcare and life sciences sectors. The ideal candidate will ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. This role requires a strong understanding of various construction methods and excellent leadership skills to coordinate teams effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage on-site construction activities and ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
- Supervise and mentor construction staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely completion of milestones.
- Conduct regular site inspections and maintain accurate records of progress and issues.
- Review and approve work performed by subcontractors and ensure it meets project specifications.
- Ensure that all necessary permits and documentation are obtained and maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Superintendent in construction, particularly in healthcare and life sciences projects at least $2MM
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, methods, and best practices, including wood framing, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and concrete work.
- Familiarity with relevant regulations and standards such as OSHPD/HCAI, and pharmaceutical construction requirements.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage teams effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
