Construction Superintendent (Industrial, Commercial & Multi-Family)

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee on-site operations across industrial, commercial, and multi-family projects. The Superintendent will ensure projects are executed safely, on schedule, and on budget while maintaining quality and compliance with design specifications and contract requirements. This role requires strong leadership, coordination with the general contractor and subcontractors, and practical construction expertise.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day on-site management of industrial, commercial, and multi-family construction projects from mobilization through closeout.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and trades to maintain schedule, quality, and productivity.
• Implement and enforce safety programs and ensure compliance with all regulatory and company safety standards.
• Collaborate with project managers, general contractor representatives, architects, and engineers to resolve field issues and clarify contract documents.
• Monitor progress, prepare daily reports, and maintain accurate project documentation including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and as-built records.
• Control site logistics, material deliveries, equipment usage, and workforce allocation to optimize efficiency and reduce downtime.
• Perform quality inspections, enforce workmanship standards, and lead punch-list and commissioning activities.
• Manage schedule updates, anticipate delays, and implement recovery plans to meet project milestones.
• Mentor and supervise field staff and subcontractor foremen to build a high-performing, safety-focused team.
• Participate in pre-construction planning, constructability reviews, and weekly coordination meetings with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Superintendent or similar role on industrial, commercial, and multi-family construction projects.
• Proven experience working with or for a General Contractor and managing subcontractor performance.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, scheduling (critical path), cost control, and quality control processes.
• Working knowledge of construction safety standards (OSHA) and proven ability to enforce safe work practices on-site.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills; able to coordinate multiple trades and stakeholders.
• Proficient with project documentation and common construction software tools (Procore, Planswift, MS Project, or equivalents).
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
• Valid drivers license and the ability to travel between job sites; relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA 30, CPR/First Aid, Certified Superintendent) preferred.
• Organized, detail-oriented, and able to perform under pressure to meet schedules and budget targets.
