Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead planning, design, and delivery of large-scale infrastructure (transportation and utilities) construction projects. The Sr. PM will own project performance across scope, schedule, budget and quality, coordinate multi-discipline teams and contractors, ensure regulatory compliance and safety, and provide regular updates to stakeholders to deliver complex roadway, bridge and utilities work on time and on budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end project delivery for transportation and utility infrastructure projects (roadways, highways, bridges, water, gas, electric, and piping).
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and risk registers; drive critical-path activities and report on program performance.
- Manage procurement and contracting activities, including RFPs, bid evaluations, change orders, and subcontractor/consultant oversight.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams of engineers, inspectors, contractors and vendors to ensure alignment and timely execution.
- Provide on-site construction oversight and technical guidance for asphalt, concrete, piping, utilities and structural work; review submittals and as-built documentation.
- Ensure compliance with permitting, environmental, safety and regulatory requirements; enforce quality control and QA/QC processes.
- Communicate project status, risks and mitigation plans to executive leadership, clients and public stakeholders; prepare executive summaries and progress reports.
- Implement cost-control measures and value-engineering initiatives to meet financial targets.
- Resolve construction issues, claims and disputes in collaboration with legal and contract teams.
- Coach and mentor junior project managers and construction staff; promote a culture of safety, continuous improvement and collaboration.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 10 years of progressive experience managing infrastructure and construction projects, with demonstrated leadership on transportation/highways, roadways and bridge projects.
- Proven experience with utilities and piping projects (water, gas, electric) and with asphalt and concrete construction methods.
- Exceptional communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills; experience working with public agencies and community stakeholders.
- Ability to travel to project sites regularly and to work in field and office environments; valid drivers license required.
