Position Overview
The Senior Construction Project Manager will oversee and manage construction projects within the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) focusing on higher education facilities. This role requires a strategic leader who ensures projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with LAUSD regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage multiple construction projects focused on higher education facilities within LAUSD.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely completion of all phases.
• Ensure adherence to LAUSD regulations and standards throughout the construction process.
• Manage project budgets, tracking expenses and ensuring financial accountability.
• Engage with stakeholders, including school officials, community members, and contractors, to facilitate project success.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks to avoid delays and cost overruns.
• Oversee contract administration, ensuring all contractual obligations are met.
• Provide leadership to project teams, fostering collaboration and high performance.
• Implement quality assurance processes to ensure construction meets required standards.
• Maintain clear and effective communication with all project participants, providing regular updates and addressing concerns.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in construction project management, with a focus on educational facilities preferred.
• A current and valid Certificate of Registration as an Architect by the California Architectural Board or as a Professional Engineer by the California State Board for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors.
• A current and valid Construction Manager (CCM) credential by the Construction. Manager Certification Institute (CMCI).
• Proven experience with scheduling and budget management in a construction environment.
• In-depth knowledge of LAUSD regulations and compliance requirements.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills and ability to work collaboratively with various teams.
• Expertise in risk management and problem-solving techniques.
• Experience in contract administration and negotiation.
• Familiarity with quality assurance practices and site supervision.
