Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Attorney specializing in Criminal Defense to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in litigation and courtroom procedures, providing expert legal representation to clients facing serious criminal charges. This position requires strong advocacy skills, the ability to manage complex cases, and a thorough understanding of criminal law and legal compliance.

This position is remote and allows for candidate to potentially head a office based in Corvallis. 

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive legal representation to clients in criminal defense cases
• Manage a caseload of 25-40 clients facing DUI and related criminal charges
• Conduct thorough legal research to support case strategies
• Manage all aspects of case management from initial consultation to trial
• Prepare for trials by gathering evidence, creating legal documents, and formulating defense strategies
• Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients and advocate for their best interests
• Represent clients in court proceedings and ensure their rights are protected
• Assess evidence and develop legal arguments based on case specifics
• Collaborate with other legal professionals and support staff to ensure effective case handling
• Stay updated on changes in criminal law and legal standards to ensure compliance and effective advocacy

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school
• Active license to practice law in Oregon
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in criminal defense or DUI defense
• Proven courtroom experience with a record of successful case outcomes
• Strong skills in legal research, writing, and case management
• Excellent negotiation and settlement skills
• Demonstrated ability to assess evidence and develop effective legal strategies
• Strong advocacy skills with experience in plea bargaining and DUI cases
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced legal environment
