Position Overview
The Gear Quotation Specialist is responsible for preparing accurate and timely quotations for low voltage electrical equipment and systems. This role is essential in supporting the sales team by providing detailed cost estimates and ensuring that customer requirements are met with precision and expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver accurate quotations for low voltage electrical equipment (4000amps and below) and systems.
- Review and interpret customer specifications and requirements for each RFQ and RFI.
- Collaborate with sales teams to gather necessary information and ensure alignment on customer needs.
- Evaluate material costs and manufacturing processes to formulate competitive pricing strategies.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of products, services, and industry standards, particularly NEC requirements.
- Assist in the preparation of technical documentation and proposals when necessary.
- Track and manage quotations and follow up on pending proposals to convert opportunities into sales.
- 2 years of proven experience in electrical quoting, particularly with low voltage equipment.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, components such as controls, switches, starters, and contactors.
- Familiarity with cost estimation processes, manufacturing practices, and materials used in electrical construction.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications and documentation related to electrical projects.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with sales teams and customers.
- Proficiency in using quotation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
