Bar Requirement: Active California Bar
A nationally recognized civil litigation defense firm is seeking a Senior Associate Attorney or mid-level Associate Attorney to join its expanding General Liability and Insurance Defense team. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who wants to handle sophisticated litigation, work with respected trial lawyers, and enjoy the flexibility of a remote practice.
This role is primarily remote, but candidates must be available for in-person depositions, hearings, trial prep, and other case-driven events when required.
About the Role
The firm represents a wide range of clients, including major insurance carriers, TPAs, and large private companies. The caseload includes personal injury matters and may also involve landlord-tenant habitability, medical malpractice, and construction defect cases.
Associates work closely with senior attorneys and trial partners, gaining exposure to complex litigation strategy, client interaction, and high-value case management.

What You Will Be Doing
- Managing a caseload of insurance defense matters from inception through resolution
- Drafting pleadings, motions, discovery, and detailed client/carrier reports
- Taking and defending depositions of plaintiffs, witnesses, and experts
- Appearing for hearings, mediations, and settlement conferences as needed
- Collaborating with senior attorneys on litigation strategy and trial preparation
- Communicating with clients and carriers while adhering to reporting and billing guidelines
What You Need to Bring
- 5 years of civil litigation experience, ideally with a strong background in insurance defense and personal injury
- Experience in habitability, med mal, or construction defect is a plus
- Strong research, writing, and analytical skills
- Ability to manage cases independently while collaborating with senior attorneys
- Familiarity with carrier reporting and billing guidelines (preferred)
