Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Patent Associate / Agent to join our intellectual property team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing patent applications, conducting legal research, and providing strategic guidance to clients on patent-related matters. This role is essential in protecting our clients' inventions and ensuring compliance with patent laws.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the preparation and filing of patent applications with the USPTO
• Conduct prior art searches and analyze patentability of inventions
• Draft and review patent applications and related documentation
• Assist with patent prosecution, including responding to office actions and communicating with patent examiners
• Engage with clients to gather invention disclosures and provide updates on application status
• Develop and implement patent strategies to maximize clients' intellectual property assets
• Collaborate with inventors and technical teams to understand and document inventions
• Conduct legal research related to patent law and regulations

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Biotechnology, or a related field
• Registered Patent Agent with the USPTO
• Prior experience in patent prosecution and drafting patents
• Strong understanding of intellectual property law
• Excellent technical writing and communication skills
• Experience with client interaction and managing patent portfolios
• Ability to conduct thorough legal research
• Juris Doctor (JD) degree is a plus
• Knowledge of electrical engineering is advantageous
• Familiarity with patent strategy and invention disclosure processes
