Key Responsibilities
- Handle a diverse caseload of medical malpractice defense cases from inception through resolution.
- Represent healthcare professionals and institutions in complex litigation, including trials, depositions, and mediations.
- Conduct thorough legal research, draft motions, pleadings, and other legal documents with precision and clarity.
- Manage all aspects of discovery, including taking and defending depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts.
- Represent clients in court, presenting arguments and evidence persuasively to achieve favorable outcomes.
- Maintain regular communication with clients, providing updates, legal advice, and strategic guidance.
- Work closely with a team of skilled attorneys and support staff to develop case strategies and ensure the best possible defense.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD)
- Licensed to practice in the state of IL
- 3 years of experience in medical malpractice - defense
- Strong skills in legal research and writing
- Experience in litigation and trial preparation
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Ability to analyze complex medical records and evidence
- Familiarity with insurance defense and professional liability cases
