Jr Estimator

This position is responsible for reporting to our Senior Estimator and assisting in many aspects of the estimating process including material takeoffs, labor estimation, obtaining quotes and data entry. Experience working with HCSS is preferred, but not mandatory.

Areas of responsibility include:

• Report to a senior estimator
• Obtain quotes from specified vendors in a timely manner
• Perform material takeoffs
• Ability to read construction plans
• Organization of quotes
• Compare vendor and subcontractor scopes
• Persistent follow-up with all vendors to ensure timely bid preparation
• Attending pre-bid meetings, bid openings and site walkthroughs

Required Skills:

• Excellent communication via in-person, phone, email and other digital methods
• Motivation and willingness to learn our estimating method
• Detail Oriented
• Excellent time management skills
• Computer Skills (Outlook, Excel, Word)
• Written and spoken fluent English

Required Experience

• Engineering or construction background
• Experience in estimating is a plus
• Experience in the water/wastewater sector is a plus
