A well established, multi office law firm is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join its General Liability and Workers' Compensation practices in New Castle, Delaware. This role is ideal for a defense attorney who wants hands on litigation responsibility, consistent courtroom exposure, and a stable platform with long term growth potential.
THE ROLE
This position involves managing a broad mix of general liability defense and workers' compensation matters. You will be entrusted with active files and expected to engage directly with clients, courts, and opposing counsel.
Key responsibilities include:
- Analyzing complex legal and factual issues
- Conducting thorough legal research and developing case strategy
- Drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery responses
- Taking and defending depositions
- Participating in arbitrations, hearings, and trials
- Communicating with clients, courts, witnesses, and co counsel
- Managing deadlines and advancing cases efficiently
This role requires the ability to work on site in a hybrid capacity and to travel locally for court appearances and client needs.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5 or more years of litigation experience
- Background in general liability defense and or workers' compensation strongly preferred
- Active Delaware bar license in good standing, required
- Strong research, writing, and analytical skills
- Clear, professional communication style
- Demonstrated interest in defense litigation
