Position Overview
We are seeking dependable Electro-Mechanical Assemblers (Level I and II) to build, wire, test and troubleshoot electromechanical products to meet high quality and safety standards. This role focuses on assembling mechanical structures and electrical/electronic components, following blueprints, schematics and BOMs, performing functional and continuity testing, and supporting continuous improvement in a lean manufacturing environment. Candidates must have electromechanical assembly experience and strong assembler skills; Level II candidates will demonstrate higher autonomy, troubleshooting ability and proficiency with IPC standards and test equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble electromechanical units and sub-assemblies per work instructions, drawings, BOMs and standard operating procedures.
- Perform electrical wiring and cable/harness assembly including connector/terminal installation, crimping and heat-shrink/sealing to ensure mechanical and electrical integrity.
- Solder components (hand soldering; IPC-A-610 acceptance criteria) and perform basic PCB assembly tasks where required.
- Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, electrical schematics and wiring diagrams to correctly place components and route cabling.
- Use hand and power tools, torque wrenches, fixtures and jigs for accurate assembly and fastening; operate calipers and micrometers for dimensional verification.
- Perform continuity testing, multimeter measurements, oscilloscope checks and functional testing/calibration of assemblies to verify performance.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electromechanical faults using systematic test procedures; document findings and corrective actions.
- Follow ESD control, safety procedures and lockout/tagout requirements to maintain a safe work environment.
- Complete quality inspections, record inspection data and adhere to IPC-A-610 / IPC-A-620 acceptance criteria and company quality standards.
- Support lean manufacturing and Kanban processes, maintain organized workstations, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Accurately document build data in ERP/MES systems and maintain traceability of components.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality and production teams to resolve assembly issues and implement process improvements.
Qualifications
- HS Diploma or GED or Demonstrated electromechanical assembly and assembler experience (Level I: entry to 2 years; Level II: 2 years or equivalent proficiency).
- Proven ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics and Bills of Materials (BOM).
- Training to IPC-A-610 and IPC-A-620 standards is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and assembly documentation
- Proficiency using hand tools, power tools, and electrical test equipment
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
- Basic computer skills.
