Cost and Plant Accounting Manager

Position Overview
The Cost and Plant Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the financial reporting and analysis of manufacturing operations. This role aims to optimize financial performance by managing cost control, budgeting processes, and ensuring compliance with GAAP standards. The manager will lead a team to provide insights into profitability and support strategic decision-making through data-driven analysis in a food manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee financial reporting and compliance for manufacturing operations
• Perform variance analysis to identify discrepancies and drive corrective actions
• Manage budgeting processes and forecasting for the plant
• Conduct financial analysis to support strategic decision-making
• Ensure adherence to GAAP standards in all financial practices
• Lead cost control initiatives to optimize operational efficiency
• Supervise inventory management practices to ensure accurate financial reporting
• Utilize ERP systems to enhance data accuracy and streamline accounting processes
• Support auditing processes and implement necessary changes based on findings
• Provide leadership and mentorship to the accounting team

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• CPA or CMA designation preferred
• 5 years of experience in cost and plant accounting, preferably in food manufacturing
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
• Proficiency in ERP systems, SAP experience is a plus
• Excellent analytical and data analysis skills
• Experience with budgeting and profitability analysis
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Ability to manage change and drive process improvements
• Understanding of inventory management and cost control practices
