Position Overview
The Corporate Safety Manager will oversee and enhance the safety protocols and practices within the organization, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and promoting a safe working environment. This role is critical in developing safety strategies especially in maritime and shipyard operations, aligning with NAVSEA standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor safety management systems and policies in alignment with industry standards.
• Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to ensure adherence to safety regulations and identify areas for improvement.
• Train and educate employees on safety practices and emergency procedures, fostering a culture of safety within the organization.
• Collaborate with various departments to ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards, particularly in maritime and shipyard settings.
• Lead investigations into accidents or near misses, analyzing causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
• Stay current with changes in safety regulations and best practices, ensuring the organization meets or exceeds compliance requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in safety management within the maritime or shipyard industry.
• Strong knowledge of NAVSEA regulations and safety management practices.
• Certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist) are preferred.
• Familiarity with MARMC, MSC, MARAD, CFR, OSHA, NFPA, ANSI, and EPA standards.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and drive safety culture across the organization.
