Construction Safety Officer
Position Overview
The Construction Safety Officer is responsible for ensuring compliance with safety regulations on construction sites to create a secure working environment. This role involves conducting inspections, developing safety protocols, and promoting a culture of safety among all employees.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular safety inspections of construction sites to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in accordance with OSHA standards.
- Provide safety training and orientation for all construction site personnel.
- Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
- Monitor the use of safety equipment and enforce the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) on site.
- Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to promote safe work practices.
- Prepare reports on safety performance and compliance for management review.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction safety and compliance inspections.
- Strong knowledge of construction safety regulations and best practices.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish.
- Familiarity with demolition, concrete, and excavation safety standards. Shoring and framing experience a huge plus.
- Certification as a Safety Officer or equivalent is a plus.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and EHS protocols.
- Experience in risk management and workers compensation processes.
