Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLP-A) Needed
Location: Champlain Valley Union High School

Champlain Valley Union High School (CVU) is seeking a full-time (1.0 FTE) Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLP-A) to join our school team for the 2026-2027 school year. The successful candidate will help create a welcoming, friendly, and growth-minded environment that ensures the best educational opportunities for all students.
In this role, you will provide highly specialized communication instruction and support. You will develop positive relationships with students and work closely with your supervising SLP, teachers, and staff to provide crucial guidance to students experiencing communication delays or impairments.
Primary Responsibilities
- Consulting with the supervising SLP to plan interventions and establish effective student goals.
- Providing direct instruction in the areas of articulation, fluency, social cognition (pragmatic language), general language, or other areas related to expressive or receptive communication delay or impairment.
- Consulting with the supervising SLP to closely monitor student progress and make strategic adjustments to the intervention plan.
- Implementing specialized communication interventions with fidelity and maintaining accurate, consistent data collection as directed by the SLP.
- Collaborating with school staff, participating in team meetings, and maintaining strict student confidentiality across all environments.
The Ideal Candidate Will Possess
- A Bachelor’s degree in Communication Science and Disorders or Speech-Language Pathology.
- Completion of a certified SLP-A program and SLP-A licensure in Vermont (strongly preferred/desirable).
- Proven ability to take initiative, work independently, manage multiple student profiles, and maintain a flexible approach to supporting student needs.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to establish professional rapport and work collaboratively with school staff, parents, and community partners.
- Demonstrated poise, patience, and a genuine passion for working with high school students to help them succeed.
