Media, Theater, & Events Coordinator Needed
Location: Champlain Valley Union High School

Champlain Valley Union High School (CVU) is seeking a Media, Theater, & Events Coordinator to join our team starting FY27. This multifaceted role is responsible for the planning, technical execution, and facility management of school-wide events and Media Center support. We are looking for a dedicated professional to ensure a professional, safe, and high-quality environment for our students, staff, and community by overseeing event logistics and mentoring student technicians.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist with the logistics, timelines, and scheduling of school-wide events such as graduations, concerts, and fundraisers.
- Set up, operate, and troubleshoot complex audiovisual systems, including sound, lighting, rigging, and projection for live-streaming and recorded events.
- Provide technical support for classroom technology and oversee the daily operation of the theater, control booth, and equipment sign-outs.
- Maintain equipment inventory, perform routine repairs, and strictly enforce safety protocols and fire codes.
- Train and supervise student technicians in technical skills including stagecraft, lighting, and sound.
- Oversee equipment load-ins and strikes and conduct post-event evaluations to identify areas for improvement.
- Assist with budgetary oversight, equipment recommendations, and vendor relationships.
The Ideal Candidate Will Possess
- Proven experience managing advanced AV systems and theatrical production equipment, with a preference for those with relevant housekeeping or facility coordination experience.
- Ability to develop detailed event checklists and action plans to ensure successful execution while working independently to get things done.
- Ability to work cooperatively and interact respectfully with a variety of individuals, including students, staff, and outside organizations.
- Capacity to stand/walk constantly and frequently lift or push/pull up to 25 lbs while maintaining high standards of facility safety.
- While experience is valued, the ability to learn through provided training and a dedication to the school’s mission is essential.
