Long-Term Substitute Special Educator (Anticipated) Needed
Location: Champlain Valley Union High School

Champlain Valley School District (CVSD) is seeking an innovative, energetic, and collaborative individual to join the Champlain Valley Union High School (CVU) community and special education team as a Long-Term Substitute Special Educator (Anticipated) starting FY27. We are looking for a professional with demonstrated leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills who matches our passion for an integrated special education service delivery model within a multi-tiered system of supports. The position is anticipated to start on 08/19/2026 and is anticipated to end on 12/18/2026.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate experience in collaborative teaming (including collaborating with classroom teachers to co-design instruction), knowledge of special education rules and regulations, and a solid ability to integrate a variety of assessment information to develop intervention programs.
Our Long-Term Substitute Special Educator will specifically be responsible for case management and program oversight of the Pathways program, which serves students in their last 1-2 years of high school before exit. The program focuses on development of life, leisure and social skills to support student’s transition into adult services.
Masters degree or equivalent in Special Education plus relevant experience in providing special education services is preferred, but candidates with different backgrounds who may be eligible for licensure are encouraged to apply.
