Job Summary
To receive and prepare library materials acquired by the library system for cataloging and processing, ensuring a quality product is delivered to member libraries in a timely manner.

Job Summary
To receive and prepare library materials acquired by the library system for cataloging and processing, ensuring a quality product is delivered to member libraries in a timely manner.
Essential Job Functions
- Unpacks and sorts shipments of new library materials; receives local acquisitions from member libraries.
- Receives and verifies new materials against invoices and the ILS.
- Searches, matches and imports vendor-supplied bibliographic database records for new library materials.
- Processes library materials acquired by the library system for circulation to the public in a timely manner; may include preparing and repairing library materials by covering, laminating, packaging and labeling items.
- Organizes, retrieves and prioritizes items for delivery.
- Maintains the processing supply inventory and fulfills library orders.
- Instructs and oversees the work of processing volunteers.
- Performs data entry to support bibliographic database maintenance.
- Maintains and compiles statistical reports documenting activities of the collection services department.
- Performs receptionist functions, such as answering the phone, greeting visitors, posting mail, etc.
- Attends meetings and trainings as required.
- Other duties as required.
Minimum Requirements to Perform the Work:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1-2 years’ library work experience preferred.
