Contract Duration: 12 Months Contract with a possibility of Extension
Shift Structure: Third Shift | 10:30 PM – 7:00 AM, Sunday Night through Friday Morning
Pay Rate: $35.00 - $38.00/hr on W2
Job Description:
Our client, a global leader in advanced technology and precision industrial machinery, is seeking a talented Manufacturing Engineer II for their Assembly operations at the facility in Waterloo, IA. In this role, you will plan, coordinate, and perform manufacturing engineering work of moderate scope within the enterprise order fulfillment process. Operating in a collaborative team environment, you will analyze data, investigate operational issues, and implement continuous improvement solutions. This role is a 100% onsite position requiring dedication to supporting production and maintaining high-quality engineering standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operations & Troubleshooting: Provide daily manufacturing support and basic troubleshooting for assembly line operations; investigate, gather, and analyze data for specifically assigned, recurring engineering tasks.
- Process Documentation: Establish routings, methods, layouts, tools, costs, methods documentation, quality plans, and labor standards for revisions to current operations and new parts or programs of limited scope.
- Tooling & Mistake-Proofing: Develop, design, and/or procure necessary manufacturing tooling and mistake-proofing devices for new assembly processes and parts.
- Continuous Improvement: Actively participate in cross-functional Continuous Improvement (CI) teams to optimize plant efficiency, safety, and product quality parameters.
- Vendor Coordination: Coordinate activities with subcontractors and suppliers, acting as a primary point of contact to deliver required outcomes within an established contract management plan.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- One or more years of demonstrated factory support and manufacturing engineering experience (including routings, methods, layouts, costs, capacity plans, and troubleshooting).
- Collaboration: Proven work experience operating successfully within a fast-paced team environment.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills to effectively partner with cross-functional business groups.
- Problem Solving: Basic knowledge of engineering testing, design validation, and build implementations within a production setting.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology, or an equivalent level of related professional work experience.
Stand-Out Skills (Preferred):
- Working knowledge of DC Electric torque equipment and execution standards.
- Hands-on experience using SAP systems within a manufacturing environment.
- Direct understanding or exposure to Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
- Previous experience with robotics and factory automation systems.
