Position Details

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Principal Electrical Engineer to develop innovative solutions for new and existing infusion system products. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in embedded electronics, electromechanical hardware development, and regulated medical device environments. This role requires hands-on technical leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and a passion for creating products that improve patient care and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Define electrical design requirements and hardware specifications based on customer and system needs.
- Contribute to electronic system architecture development and documentation.
- Design analog and digital electronic circuits for microcontroller-based systems.
- Perform circuit analysis and simulations to evaluate:
- Performance limits
- Environmental/load stresses
- Timing interfaces
- Safety-critical system reliability
- Integrate electrical designs with mechanical and software subsystems.
- Develop and maintain electrical design documentation, specifications, and schematics.
- Lead and coordinate engineers and technicians on assigned projects.
- Define and execute verification and validation test methods.
- Guide PCB layout activities for:
- EMI/EMC/ESD compliance
- Signal integrity
- Manufacturability
- Support product transition into manufacturing and ensure process robustness.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, quality, regulatory, and marketing teams.
- Implement data acquisition and analysis techniques to evaluate design performance.
- Execute safety and effectiveness testing protocols.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical system issues.
- Manage project timelines, technical deliverables, and milestone tracking.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field.
- 15 years of experience in electrical/electronics engineering.
- Strong experience in electromechanical hardware development.
- Experience in regulated industries such as:
- Medical Devices
- Military/Aerospace
- Safety-critical systems
- Strong embedded systems expertise including:
- Microcontrollers
- FPGA-based systems
- Analog and digital circuit design
- Experience with EMI/EMC/ESD compliance testing.
- Strong knowledge of PCB schematic and layout tools:
- Altium Designer (preferred)
- Experience using:
- MATLAB
- LabVIEW
- Data acquisition systems
- Knowledge of industry standards:
- IEC 60601
- IEC 61010
- UL
- ANSI
- AIM
- ASTM
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in infusion pump or infusion systems domain.
- Experience developing sensing subsystems.
