Crane and Utility Truck Service Specialist

You’ll diagnose, repair, and maintain utility fleet workhorses—boom trucks, cranes, bucket and dump trucks, digger derricks, and other specialty units from Load King, TEREX, Manitowoc, Elliott, and National Cranes—right at customer sites. And yes, you take your fully outfitted CTOS service truck home.

• Comfortable tracing hydraulic circuits and pinpointing fluid power issues?
• Able to troubleshoot pneumatic tools with confidence?
• Fluent in reading electrical and hydraulic schematics and blueprints—and handy with a welder?
• Experienced with Quick Serve, DTNA, and similar diagnostic software?
• Knowledgeable about DOT, ANSI, and dielectric testing protocols?

• Assess, diagnose, and repair or replace parts across diverse utility equipment.
• Operate and inspect machines to confirm defects and validate repairs.
• Fit bearings; overhaul mobile mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Use pressure gauges, flow testing, and calibration tools to verify performance.
• Rebuild gearboxes, outriggers, and boom lift cylinders.
• Perform initial inspections, complete diagnostics, and requisition parts.
• Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment with the right tools.
• Test products post-repair and handle routine maintenance on equipment/vehicles.
• Ensure quality and safety standards are met; document parts, labor, and services accurately.
• Submit repair orders for approval; collaborate professionally; attend monthly safety meetings.

• High school diploma or GED.
• Five years of related shop and field experience.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL Class B preferred.
• Own set of mechanic’s tools.
• Proficient with software-based documentation; able to meet deadlines and schedules.

• Sharp troubleshooting instincts and strong critical thinking.
• Proven skill in equipment repair and operation.
• Reliable execution of preventive and routine maintenance.
• Sound judgment in fast-moving situations.

• Professional, positive attitude and on-time attendance.
• Ability to work in varied conditions and at heights; comfortable with manual labor.
• Adequate strength to lift, carry, push, and pull.
• Effective verbal/written communication and reasoning skills.
• Manual dexterity for safe, precise tool and equipment operation.
