Commercial Grade Dedication (CGD) Manager
Join a pioneering nuclear technology organisation delivering a first-of-a-kind facility supporting critical healthcare and advanced nuclear applications. This is an opportunity to lead the Commercial Grade Dedication programme responsible for qualifying safety-related equipment and ensuring the highest standards of quality, compliance, and operational readiness.
As CGD Manager, you will lead a team of engineers and laboratory specialists responsible for qualifying commercial components for use in safety-related applications. Working closely with Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Quality teams, you will play a key role in bringing complex nuclear systems from design through installation and operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Commercial Grade Dedication Engineers and Lab Technicians.
- Oversee commercial grade dedication and equipment qualification programmes for safety-related applications.
- Approve CGD plans, testing strategies, qualification packages, and engineering documentation.
- Coordinate qualification activities with engineering, procurement, construction, and project delivery teams.
- Manage laboratory operations, budgets, equipment procurement, and resource planning.
- Ensure compliance with applicable nuclear quality assurance requirements and industry standards.
- Support project schedules by aligning qualification activities with installation and commissioning milestones.
- Develop and maintain CGD procedures, work instructions, and programme documentation.
- Evaluate safety functions and critical characteristics to ensure components meet design and regulatory requirements.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Significant experience within the nuclear industry or another highly regulated environment.
- Strong understanding of Commercial Grade Dedication principles and nuclear quality assurance programmes.
- Experience working with ASME NQA-1, ANSI 15.8, or equivalent nuclear quality standards.
- Proven leadership experience managing technical teams and complex qualification programmes.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and project coordination skills.
Highly Desirable
- Direct experience performing or overseeing Commercial Grade Dedication activities in accordance with EPRI NP-5652.
- Experience with environmental qualification programmes, including seismic, electrical, and mechanical testing.
- Familiarity with safety-related equipment qualification and nuclear construction projects.
- Experience supporting first-of-a-kind facilities or advanced nuclear technologies.
