Position Summary
The Maintenance Director is responsible for overseeing all maintenance operations within the facility, ensuring the building, equipment, and grounds are safe, functional, and properly maintained. This role requires strong leadership, technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with all departments.
Qualifications
- Experience in maintenance leadership or supervisory role preferred
- Knowledge of boilers, compressors, generators, and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems required
- Understanding of building codes, safety regulations, and blueprint interpretation
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to lead and supervise maintenance personnel
- Positive attitude and compassion toward the elderly
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be able to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions
- Must successfully pass background check and drug screen
Essential Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and direct the daily operations of the Maintenance Department
- Oversee preventative maintenance and repair of facility equipment, systems, and grounds
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and facility standards
- Assist with hiring, training, scheduling, and supervising maintenance staff
- Maintain inventory and forecast maintenance supply needs
- Coordinate repairs and respond promptly to maintenance requests
- Promote a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, vendors, and department leaders
