Position Overview

The Head of Production will have oversight and awareness of all aspects of both live experiential events and content production, and will be responsible for leading and mentoring a team of talented producers to execute all brand experiences, experiential activations, and content campaigns for our clients. They are responsible for ensuring that all aspects of our client’s brand experiences and content deliverables are successfully conceptualized, produced, and delivered.

 

Reporting into the General Manager of Crown Conquer, the ideal candidate is a creative problem solver with the ability to actively manage competing priorities while always remaining composed under pressure. The Head of Production must be a strong leader — decisive and comfortable managing multiple tasks and delegating while working within a fast-paced environment. The Head of Production looks beyond the day-to-day needs of projects to ensure the long-term stability and growth of the client relationship and work across both experiential and content disciplines.

 

Essential Functions

Production and Creative Partnership

  • Partner closely with Creative to develop extraordinary concepts that inspire clients and redefine how people experience brands.
  • Provide high-level oversight for multiple brand experience and content production projects from pitch through to execution.
  • Inspire and challenge internal teams to produce creative executions — spanning live events, digital content, social campaigns, and branded media — that over-deliver on client expectations.
  • Ensure the team’s work adheres to a high level of creative integrity across both experiential and content outputs at all times, defending conceptual and directional choices in the execution phase with vendors.
  • Continually strive for innovative solutions and production methods in both live event environments and content studio/on-location settings.
  • Oversee end-to-end content production workflows including pre-production planning, shoot logistics, post-production coordination, and final delivery.
  • Partner with creative and accounts teams to develop integrated campaign approaches that connect content production with experiential activations.
 

Client Relationships Project Management

  • Manage solid client relationships and provide key strategic initiatives and thinking; accountable for client satisfaction and retention across both experiential and content scopes.
  • Support assigned account teams on all functional and tactical aspects of execution including budgeting, timelines, KPIs, measurement, evaluation, modification and enhancements, training and reporting.
  • Review and approve team project SOWs, including deliverables, resources and financial requirements across event and content workstreams.
  • Assign teams (full-time and freelance) to new projects, attending internal and external kickoffs and client calls/meetings as individual project needs require.
  • Ensure project summaries are delivered to clients and projects are closed out/reconciled in real time.
 

Budget Management & Business Development

  • Work closely with GM and Finance Director to ensure quarterly revenue goals and individual project profitability goals are being met across experiential and content revenue streams.
  • Collaborate with the accounts team and seasoned producers to provide proposal budgets and ensure overall production feasibility during the RFP process for both event and content scopes.
  • Oversee project budgets including tracking, billing, contributions and client approvals with budgets of up to $15–20 million.
  • Assess projects to determine resource requirements, ensuring we are always operating with maximum profitability.
  • Adhere to agency and client financial reporting and contractual processes.
  • Liaise with GM to develop strategic departmental plans that promote profitable growth and efficient operations across both production disciplines.
 

Team Management

  • Strategically map and forecast freelance, permanent and contract hires — spanning both event production and content production talent — based on existing projects and the new business pipeline; scale the production department efficiently as needed.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to GM, Finance Director and Creative Director.
  • Ensure direct teams work effectively with cross-functional teams (Accounts, Creative, and Operations).
  • Serve as a strong leader, coach, and mentor to producers across experiential and content disciplines, ensuring they are exposed to appropriate opportunities for career growth.
  • Develop talent through challenging assignments, training modules and ongoing constructive feedback.
  • Partner with GM and HR to identify strengths and development opportunities of the Production team.
  • Ensure regular team meetings and manage communications between team members, ensuring all deadlines are met.
  • As a member of Crown Conquer’s leadership team, work closely with other senior leaders across departments and offices to ensure synergy, collaboration and communication.

Qualifications

  • 10 years of experience in production, with demonstrated expertise in both live experiential events and content production (including video, photo, digital, and/or social content).
  • Hands-on experience overseeing core event logistics (catering, venue, housing, AV, etc.) for large-scale events, as well as managing content production workflows from pre-production through post and final delivery.
  • 7 years of experience managing and overseeing people and teams — both full-time and freelance — across experiential and content disciplines, with a genuine desire to nurture and develop their growth.
  • Exceptional track record managing client relationships with key decision makers across integrated scopes.
  • Strong account management and execution of experiential marketing projects, branded content campaigns, and integrated programs that establish credibility and respect with both internal and external teams.
  • Ability to evaluate and champion creative concepts spanning live experience design and content storytelling, and develop superior program ideas to present to clients.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Superior ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously from inception through execution, managing priorities, commitments, budgets and timelines.
  • Keen eye for detail and attention to delivering accurate, top-quality deliverables across all production formats.
  • Forward thinking and excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to proactively anticipate obstacles, communicate to appropriate parties, and create solutions on a timely basis.
  • Ability to continuously identify areas of organic growth and expansion of services, including emerging content formats and experiential technologies.
  • Superior presentation skills and the ability to effectively engage and influence a variety of audiences.
  • Strong work ethic, integrity, and positive attitude.
  • A passion for staying current with both experiential marketing trends and content production innovation, with a finger on the pulse of cutting-edge brand experiences and storytelling.
