Position Summary
The Infant Teacher is responsible for providing high-quality care and education for children ages anywhere from 6 weeks to 18 months. This position requires someone who is patient, attentive, energetic, and capable of creating a warm and nurturing classroom environment that supports each child's physical, emotional, social, cognitive, and spiritual development.
Responsibilities
- Provide loving, attentive care to infants throughout the day.
- Create a safe, clean, and engaging classroom environment.
- Follow and maintain infant feeding, diapering, sleeping, and developmental schedules.
- Implement age-appropriate activities that promote sensory exploration, language development, fine motor skills, and social-emotional growth.
- Maintain compliance with all state licensing regulations, health and safety standards, and safe sleep practices.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's daily activities, milestones, and needs.
- Maintain accurate records of feedings, diaper changes, naps, and developmental observations.
- Foster positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers.
- Participate in classroom cleaning, organization, and sanitization procedures.
- Incorporate Christian values and biblical principles into daily interactions and classroom culture.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience working with infants in a childcare setting preferred.
- First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Ability to pass all required background checks.
- Must be physically able to lift up to 40 pounds, sit on the floor, bend, kneel, and actively engage with children throughout the day.
