What are the responsibilities and job description for the Youth Program Coordinator, Alpha - $100,000/year USD position at Crossover?
- On-site position at Alpha School's campus in Brownsville, TX
- $100,000 annual W2 salary, paid weekly. Health benefits begin day one.
- Relocation assistance available for candidates committing to one school year on campus
Alpha operates the most unconventional school model you'll encounter. Students don't sit in rows listening to lectures. They progress through AI-powered learning applications at their own speed. AI manages the instructional delivery. Your role is to facilitate life skills workshops that capture the attention of a K-8 student audience, lead motivational sessions that drive them toward their weekly learning targets, and maintain standards when a student tries to take the easy path. The academic side runs itself. You manage the human dimension.
This position offers a meaningful advancement path, and that path leads to greater student impact. Educators who consistently achieve their metrics (100% cohort achievement of weekly app targets, satisfaction scores above 90%) advance into Lead Guide positions where they train other educators to excel in this work. Students remain the focus.
The campus sits in Brownsville, adjacent to SpaceX's Starbase facility. If your motivation for leaving your current position is the mission — transforming what a young person believes about their own potential — rather than the credential it adds to your resume, submit your application.
What You Will Be Doing
- Facilitating one-hour life skills workshops with K-8 students on topics including public speaking, focus, and giving and receiving feedback
- Administering Test2Pass mastery assessments following each workshop to verify students have genuinely acquired the skill, not merely attended the session
- Leading daily motivation sessions using student profiles, interests, and Coachbot analytics to ensure 100% of your cohort achieves their weekly app progression goals
- Leveraging storytelling, incentives (school currency, leaderboards), and personal relationships to overcome student resistance
- Monitoring cohort satisfaction scores to maintain a 90% target on student surveys
- Lecturing at the front of a classroom. Students progress academically through self-paced AI-powered apps, not through direct instruction from you.
- Supervising without engagement. Kids working on computers is the environment; active involvement is the expectation.
- Compromising standards when students resist. Test2Pass expectations remain constant, regardless of a student's difficult week.
- Creating curriculum from the ground up. Lesson plans and workshop frameworks are supplied; your responsibility is to execute them with the presence and storytelling ability that ensures students genuinely internalize the content.
- Handling parent relations, admissions processes, or campus operations oversight. Those responsibilities belong to different roles.
Guide a cohort of K-8 students to achieve 100% of their weekly academic targets while facilitating life skills workshops that maintain 90% satisfaction scores.
Basic Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in any subject
- Minimum 3 years of direct experience working with K-8 (elementary and middle school) students
- Strong storytelling and facilitation presence — capable of maintaining the engagement of a room full of children for an hour
- Willingness to work on-site at the Alpha campus in Brownsville, TX
- Legal authorization to work in the US without requiring visa sponsorship
- Experience as an athletic coach, camp counselor, or youth program facilitator
- Demonstrated high performance in a competitive setting (academic, athletic, or professional)
- Familiarity with self-directed or app-based learning environments
