What are the responsibilities and job description for the Reading Intervention Specialist, Unbound Academy (Remote) - $60,000/year USD position at Crossover?
You recognize the shift. The instant a learner stops making random guesses and begins reading with intention. They glance up and declare, "I can do this." If that's the impact you want to create daily, this is the right environment.
Unbound is a remote-first online institution designed for measurable progress, not hours logged. We're rethinking student learning so advancement happens faster, engagement improves, and graduates leave with verifiable confidence.
In most weeks, you'll facilitate high-impact intervention sessions. During the remainder, you'll conduct brief motivation check-ins that maintain momentum and goal achievement. This position fits individuals who value independence, rapid feedback cycles, and visible results. It won't suit those seeking a rigid template or avoiding data-informed decisions.
If you're committed to helping struggling readers achieve substantial progress—and you value the flexibility to customize your methods for individual students—we should connect.
What You Will Be Doing
Take full ownership of outcomes for grades 3–8—quantifiable improvements in fluency and comprehension—through personalized virtual interventions and motivational support that cultivates confidence.

At Unbound Academy, students can master their core academics in just two hours a day. Our teachers use an AI-powered learning model to adjust to each child’s pace and interests, ensuring progress happens twice as fast as in a typical classroom.
