What are the responsibilities and job description for the Performance Coach, Alpha - $150,000/year USD position at Crossover?
- On-site in Atlanta, GA; Oklahoma City, OK; Keller (Fort Worth), TX; or Park City (Salt Lake City), UT
- $150,000 annual salary, distributed weekly. Full health benefits from day one
- Relocating? Support is included
At Alpha, this isn't up for discussion. It's embedded in how we operate. Students engage with academic content through self-directed applications rather than traditional instructor-led lessons. This structure allows you to focus on what genuinely drives transformation: facilitating high-impact sessions on public speaking, concentration, and constructive feedback. You'll use live data to motivate students toward complete goal achievement. You'll develop the Guides working with you. Your resources include analytics, a tested playbook, and the kind of presence that commands attention from middle schoolers.
A typical morning may include a one-on-one development session with a Guide, analyzing Coachbot data and pinpointing where a group is underperforming. By midday you're facilitating a live student workshop, executing a playbook module on feedback exchange. Afternoons are reserved for motivation work: engaging with individual students, uncovering their drivers, and leveraging Alpha's incentive architecture (school currency, leaderboards) to re-engage a reluctant 7th grader. You maintain direct ownership of a cohort, keeping your skills aligned with what you're coaching others to build.
Three outcomes define your success: students love school, they progress at double the rate of conventional classrooms, and they develop authentic life skills. You'll coach other Guides immediately. As you scale results, your influence over campus program quality expands.
Uphold the standard. Transform the student. Apply now.
What You Will Be Doing
- Facilitating hour-long live sessions on life skills (public speaking, focus, feedback exchange) for K-8 students, using Alpha's playbook
- Conducting motivation interventions with Coachbot analytics and Alpha's incentive framework (school currency, leaderboards) to achieve 100% student goal attainment
- Developing Guides on program fidelity and standards execution, ensuring every coaching interaction yields concrete improvement steps
- Managing your own student cohort while simultaneously building capacity in other Guides
- Monitoring student satisfaction metrics, goal completion percentages, and Guide performance indicators
- Lecturing or providing academic tutoring. Students engage with content through applications.
- Creating curriculum or lesson plans. Alpha's playbook serves as your operating framework, allowing you to concentrate on delivery and relationship-building.
- Accepting 99% as sufficient. Maintaining the standard demonstrates your belief in their ability to reach 100%.
- Coaching Guides on instructional methods. Guides facilitate rather than teach, so your coaching focuses on energy, motivation, and accountability.
Fulfill Alpha's 3 Promises for every student in your level: they love school, they learn at twice the speed of traditional classrooms, and they develop real life skills.
