At Alpha, students complete two hours of daily academics using self-paced, AI-driven applications. No traditional teachers. No lecture delivery. No managing classroom instruction on content. This model allows you to focus on what truly shifts student outcomes: facilitating high-impact workshops on topics like public speaking, concentration, and feedback; using live analytics to motivate every learner toward goal achievement; and developing the Guides you work alongside.

A typical morning might begin with coaching a Guide one-on-one, reviewing data and pinpointing where a student group is struggling. By midday you're running a structured workshop with students, executing a playbook exercise on feedback exchange. Your afternoon transitions to motivational interventions: engaging individual learners, diagnosing their drivers, and applying Alpha's incentive framework to re-engage a reluctant middle schooler. You maintain direct responsibility for your own cohort, ensuring you stay practiced in the same capabilities you're training others to build.

What You Will Be Doing

• Facilitating structured one-hour workshops on life competencies (public speaking, concentration, feedback exchange) for elementary and middle school cohorts (K-8), adhering to Alpha's established playbook rather than creating custom content
• Conducting motivational interventions using live student data and Alpha's incentive architecture (internal currency, performance leaderboards) to achieve 100% goal attainment across your cohort
• Developing Guides through coaching focused on program consistency and standards adherence, with each session yielding specific action items for improvement
• Carrying direct responsibility for your own student cohort while simultaneously training other Guides
• Monitoring student satisfaction metrics, goal completion percentages, and Guide effectiveness indicators on a weekly basis to identify performance gaps early
  
  

What You Won’t Be Doing

• Delivering academic instruction or tutoring on subject matter. Students progress through self-directed applications independently.
• Creating original curriculum or developing lesson plans. The playbook is provided; execution fidelity is the expectation, not innovation.
• Training Guides on instructional methods. Since Guides don't teach content, your coaching centers on energy management, motivation tactics, and accountability practices.
• Accepting 99% when the standard is 100%. Maintaining expectations demonstrates your confidence in students' full potential.
• Serving as the campus emotional safety net. Students receive both genuine connection and direct feedback paired with meaningful accountability.
  
  

Learning And Development Manager Key Responsibilities

Fulfill Alpha's three core commitments for every student in your cohort: they develop genuine enthusiasm for school, accelerate their learning at twice the rate of traditional classrooms, and build authentic life competencies.

Basic Requirements

• Available to work on-site at one of these Alpha campuses: Atlanta, GA; Oklahoma City, OK; Tulsa, OK; Austin, TX; Keller (Fort Worth), TX; The Woodlands (Houston), TX; Park City (Salt Lake City), UT; or Toronto, Canada (relocation assistance available)
• Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Business, or related discipline
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in education, learning and development, coaching, youth leadership, or equivalent field
• Demonstrated history of managing a team of at least 5 adults, including responsibility for hiring and performance-related termination decisions
• Hands-on experience working with children ages 5-14 in educational or developmental contexts
• Experience building, launching, or substantially scaling a program, team, business, school, or initiative from inception
• Documented ability to leverage data and metrics for establishing weekly objectives and informing decisions, beyond simple reporting
• Legal authorization to work in the United States or Canada
  
  

Nice-to-have Requirements

• Master's degree in Education, Psychology, Organizational Leadership, or related discipline
• Experience coaching sports, facilitating wilderness or experiential education programs, overseeing camps, or managing youth ministry at a scale requiring cohort management and outcome measurement
• Transitioned from classroom teaching into program design or leadership roles in EdTech, tutoring organizations, youth-focused nonprofits, or school intervention initiatives
• Track record of exceptional individual performance — academically, athletically, or professionally — during early career before transitioning to leadership
• Conviction that the existing education system requires fundamental redesign and personal commitment to contributing to that transformation

Working with us

This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $75 USD/hour, which equates to $150,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
