You will be the person they reach out to when uncertainty arises, when something doesn't feel right, or when they want to share a moment they know will resonate with you. You'll develop enough familiarity with each family to sense their needs before they articulate them—and you'll possess the judgment and composure to address what they bring with discretion, warmth, and apparent ease. Over time, you won't simply be connected to their child's education. You'll become woven into how they navigate this phase of their family journey.

Trust at this level isn't generated by procedure. It emerges from presence—sustained, consistent, and unhurried. You'll maintain visibility during morning arrivals and afternoon departures, attend evening gatherings that hold significance, and engage in the unscheduled one-on-one exchanges that rarely appear on any agenda. You'll cultivate a community that families feel invested in protecting, where inclusion feels organic and referrals arise because the quality of the experience merits them.

Alpha operates differently from conventional schools. Students complete their core academic work in two hours each day using AI-powered applications, then dedicate the remainder of their time to public speaking, critical thinking, and applied projects. No traditional lectures. No filler assignments. Performance outcomes in the top 1% nationally. The families who select it are investing in something they value—but commitment requires ongoing care.

You'll sustain that dialogue with every family, through every question, for the duration of their child's enrollment. What You Will Be Doing

  • Take ownership of the relationship with each family on campus—the evolving, deepening connection that ensures parents feel recognized, not merely attended to
  • Identify and address concerns proactively before they escalate, resolving them with the discretion and interpersonal skill that preserves trust
  • Maintain consistent presence in key family touchpoints: morning arrivals (7–9am), afternoon departures (2–4pm), evening parent gatherings, and select weekend programming
  • Develop a campus community with authentic depth—events, rituals, and engagement points that foster a sense of belonging to something families want to safeguard
  • Develop parent advocates through natural channels, delivering experiences of such reliable quality that referrals emerge as a natural byproduct
  • Sustain the ongoing dialogue about Alpha's AI-driven model with families managing screen time considerations, skeptical relatives, and periodic uncertainty—not only during enrollment, but continuously throughout their campus tenure
  • Recognize when a family alignment isn't ideal and manage that situation with the same care you apply elsewhere—safeguarding the community is an aspect of serving it
  • Establish the systems and cadences this position demands in a setting where standard procedures are still being developed

What You Won’t Be Doing

  • Overseeing enrollment processes—that falls under the Admissions Director; your engagement starts when families commit and intensifies thereafter
  • Operating from behind a desk—your visibility within the community defines the role
  • Adhering to standard 9–5 schedules—early mornings, extended afternoons, and evening programming are integral to the position, not occasional occurrences
  • Relying on administrative infrastructure, established protocols, or a complete team—you function with significant autonomy and create what's necessary
  • Approaching family relationships as transactional accounts—this role rewards authentic engagement, not procedural adherence

Director Of Strategic Parent Engagement Key Responsibilities

Serve as the central trusted relationship in every family's Alpha experience. Maintain their confidence during challenging moments, cultivate a community where belonging feels substantive, and establish conditions under which satisfied families naturally become active advocates.

Basic Requirements

  • Currently living within commuting range of one of these campus locations OR prepared to relocate within 60 days (preference given to candidates with established community connections): Scottsdale, AZ; Palo Alto, CA; Piedmont, CA; Lake Forest, CA; San Francisco, CA; Greenwich, CT; Bethesda, MD; New York City, NY; Austin, TX; Fort Worth, TX; Houston, TX; or Kirkland, WA
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship
  • 5 years in a client-facing role serving high-net-worth or ultra-high-net-worth families—contexts such as private school admissions, premium hospitality, philanthropic advising, or any setting where discretion, warmth, and interpersonal fluency were as critical as competence
  • Proven capacity to maintain relationships through challenging situations with sophisticated families while preserving trust
  • Authentic presence and communication approach that builds confidence rapidly with affluent, demanding families—polished but not performative
  • Direct familiarity with independent, private, or alternative education models—either professionally or as a parent—that provides you credible authority when families challenge the approach
  • Sincere conviction in AI-powered education and the capacity to sustain that belief authentically across years of parent engagement, not solely during initial enrollment discussions
  • Flexibility for non-standard hours: early mornings (7–9am), late afternoons (2–4pm), evening programming 2–3 times monthly, and periodic weekend activities

Nice-to-have Requirements

Outstanding candidates will possess at least one of the following:

  • Established connections within the local affluent community that would provide immediate, organic credibility on campus
  • Private or independent school background with demonstrated success in family retention and community cultivation—beyond mere enrollment metrics
  • Background managing high-stakes family dynamics where your discretion and judgment were the foundation of sustained trust
  • A natural ability to design experiences—gatherings, moments, settings—that make people feel part of something they want to preserve
  • Prior startup or early-stage organizational experience where you built infrastructure from the ground up and maintained composure amid rapid change

Working with us

This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $100 USD/hour, which equates to $200,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
