From launch through the first year, this role centers on building enrollment from the ground up. In Santa Barbara, success depends on earning credibility within close-knit social networks where reputation spreads quickly and errors are remembered. You will design and lead small-group information sessions, conduct personalized campus tours, engage families in individual conversations, and intentionally assemble the founding cohort. After enrollment reaches target and an admissions director is hired, your focus transitions to serving as the campus's lead parent liaison, maintaining strategic alignment and converting satisfied families into active advocates across their circles.

This role is not about transactional selling. It requires building trust at an elevated standard. You must command respect from families with access to any educational option nationally and who expect substantive responses to complex questions regarding AI integration, technology use, and measurable student outcomes. A single poorly aligned family can disrupt a cohort of 25 students. Selectivity is essential.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Lead the complete enrollment process from initial contact through signed enrollment agreements until reaching 25 students
  • Design and facilitate tailored information sessions and one-on-one campus visits that attract aligned families while filtering out those who are not a fit
  • Establish trust and visibility through daily face-to-face networking, individual family meetings, and strategic community collaborations throughout Santa Barbara
  • Act as the main point of contact for prospective and enrolled families, providing elevated, personalized service
  • Communicate and defend Alpha's AI-powered educational model to informed, questioning parents with clarity and confidence

What You Won’t Be Doing

  • Operating within a fixed 9–5 routine; availability during mornings, afternoons, and certain evenings is necessary
  • Depending on a full admissions or marketing staff to generate leads for you
  • Enrolling every applicant simply to meet quotas; safeguarding cohort integrity is more important than enrollment volume
  • Remaining office-bound; consistent, visible presence throughout the community is required

Director Of Parent Experience Key Responsibilities

Recruit and enroll a founding cohort of 25 students in Santa Barbara, then nurture parent satisfaction and advocacy to sustain referral-driven growth over time.

Basic Requirements

  • Currently live within commuting range of Santa Barbara or prepared to relocate within 60 days
  • Authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship
  • At least 5 years working with high-net-worth clients in advisory sales or premium client service roles (examples: private school admissions, luxury hospitality, philanthropic development, etc.)
  • Proven track record managing sales or enrollment pipelines with measurable conversion outcomes
  • Professional demeanor and communication abilities appropriate for affluent, well-educated family audiences
  • Self-directed entrepreneurial mindset, capable of thriving independently within a startup campus setting
  • Strong belief in AI-enhanced education and readiness to address questions about technology exposure and alternative learning approaches
  • Flexibility to work early mornings (7–9am), late afternoons (2–4pm), evening programming (2–3 times monthly), and occasional weekend commitments

Nice-to-have Requirements

  • Existing network or relationships in the Santa Barbara or Montecito area
  • Prior leadership experience in private or independent school admissions
  • Professional history in high-end real estate, development work, or major donor engagement
  • Experience working within startup or early-stage organizations
  • Track record organizing premium events or building community-based partnerships

Working with us

This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $100 USD/hour, which equates to $200,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
