Alpha Schools replaces conventional lectures and textbooks with AI-driven adaptive learning paired with peer-level mentorship. Each student advances at their own speed. Your role is to guide them toward discovering their strengths, not to deliver pre-scripted lessons.

This position is designed for high performers who want to apply that energy to repairing a broken educational system. You won't spend time grading papers or adhering to rigid curricula. Instead, you'll facilitate workshops, spark curiosity, and demonstrate that learning becomes boundless when students take ownership of their education.

What You Will Be Doing

• Serving as a mentor to K-8 students, establishing trust and cultivating a limitless mindset
• Leveraging AI and adaptive learning platforms to personalize educational journeys—students advance at their own pace while you facilitate discovery
• Creating and facilitating life-skills workshops (including public speaking, goal-setting, and collaboration) that equip students for long-term success
• Building a culture of curiosity, ambition, and growth—assisting students in identifying their strengths and passions
  
  

Basic Requirements

Career Coach key responsibilities

• Bachelor's degree in any subject
• Strong public speaking skills, with proven ability to engage and energize audiences
• A genuine desire to connect, inspire, and motivate K-8th grade students
• 3 year's experience coaching or mentoring children
• Legal right to work in the US without visa sponsorship
• Willingness to work in-person at one of our campuses: Austin, TX; Brownsville, TX; or Fort Worth, TX.
• Able to attend a paid training program at our Austin, TX campus

Working with us

This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $50 USD/hour, which equates to $100,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
