Telecommunications OSP Engineer Responsibilities

We are a leading telecommunications provider delivering cutting-edge connectivity solutions. We are seeking a Telecommunications OSP Engineer to support field surveys and engineering design for customer circuit delivery and Open for Sale programs.
Telecommunications OSP Engineer Responsibilities
- Conduct field surveys of customer locations and surrounding telecom networks to develop service delivery designs
- Identify Outside Plant (OSP) fiber optic network elements and determine optimal routing to customer premises
- Plan and design network additions, upgrades, repairs, and enhancements
- Select and price efficient, cost-effective technical solutions
- Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, property owners, and customers
- Communicate clearly with residential and business clients to ensure smooth implementation
- Perform both outdoor fieldwork and indoor site evaluations
Required:
- 3–5 years of experience in telecommunications, data networking, or wireless
- Strong knowledge of OSP engineering design principles and FTTP facilities
- Ability to independently perform OSP telecom facility surveys
- Experience with fiber plant design and construction practices
- Proficiency in tools such as Excel, Visio, ArcGIS/ESRI, 3GIS, and Google Earth
- Knowledge of network plant operations, permitting, and right-of-way regulations
- Experience with IDDS drafting systems
- Familiarity with engineering systems and database applications
