Network Systems Assurance Engineer Responsibilities

As a Network Systems Assurance Engineer, you will play a critical role in maintaining and optimizing advanced network infrastructure while supporting the deployment of next-generation technologies like 5G.
Network Systems Assurance Engineer Responsibilities
- Perform optimization and troubleshooting of base station equipment, fiber networks, and facility systems
- Test fiber networks and integrate hardware to support new product deployments
- Coordinate installation, testing, and troubleshooting across voice and data platforms (e.g., Gigabit Ethernet, OCn, T1/T3)
- Monitor and maintain network performance using traffic and capacity tools
- Support AC/DC power systems and HVAC for network infrastructure reliability
- Maintain secure environments ensuring vendor safety and system integrity
- Document network updates, logs, and compliance reports
- Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve complex network issues
- Assist in deploying and supporting 5G network technologies
- Participate in on-call rotations, night shifts, and overtime as needed
Required:
- Associate’s degree or 3 years of telecommunications/networking experience
- Hands-on experience with fiber testing tools (e.g., OTDR, fiberscope)
- Strong troubleshooting skills in networking, telecom systems, and PC hardware
- Experience with switching facilities and transmission systems
- Knowledge of DC power systems (e.g., Galaxy, Lorain)
- Familiarity with routers and networks (Ciena, Nokia, Cisco, Fujitsu)
- Willingness to work flexible schedules
- Technical degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, or related field
- Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, or NRS
- Knowledge of LAN/WAN, IP routing, and Linux systems
- Experience with dark and lit fiber services and high-capacity transport systems
- Background in scripting, project management, and data communications
