Xray Technologist

Job Summary: Xray Technologist (XRAY TECH) Pittsfield, Massachusetts. The organization is seeking a Xray Technologist to perform a wide variety of technical radiology procedures requiring independent judgment to support diagnosis. Proper patient care, infection control, and maintenance of patient confidentiality are essential, along with demonstrated ability to operate and troubleshoot radiology computer systems and applications. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Days shift (12 hours); minimum 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Active American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (R) Certification; Basic Life Support (BLS) (AHA or ARC) (active); Active Massachusetts Radiologic Technologist License in hand or proof of application; Current Xray Technologist skills (pertinent to the position), current to 1 year; Meditech Expanse experience within the past 1 year (if applicable); 2 years experience with 1 year current experience; Supervisory signed reference (from within the past two years of employment).
• Preferred Qualifications: Meditech Expanse experience.
• Responsibilities:
  • Perform technical radiology procedures and support diagnosis through appropriate imaging and independent judgment.
  • Practice infection control and body substance isolation in accordance with departmental and hospital policies and OSHA standards.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Demonstrate proper operation of PACS, HIS, and RIS computer systems and ability to operate and troubleshoot CR, DR, and PACS applications.
  • Participate in required annual mandatory education related to blood borne pathogens, infection control, and body substance isolation.
  • Maintain department competencies as required.
  • Provide proper care of the client in accordance with departmental and hospital policies and procedures.
  • May assume responsibilities for assigned areas related to supervision or instruction to department personnel as determined by leadership.
• Additional Information:
  • 8 hours non-billable orientation.
  • Holiday and coverage may be required; weekend coverage may be part of the shift if needed.
  • Any/All requested time off (RTO) must be noted and verified at upload.
  • No more than 5 days of RTO will be accepted (less is better).
  • All scheduling requests must be made at the time of submission; scheduling requests after offer or during interview will not be approved and may lead to rescinded offer.
  • Submission requires travelers permanent address included in the profile, and confirmation that the traveler does not reside within 50 miles of the facility.
  • Travelers are expected to ensure they can be reached and have voicemail set up when the facility reaches out.
  • On-call: None.
