This role focuses primarily on class action and PAGA wage and hour matters, with some exposure to related claims such as discrimination, wrongful termination, retaliation, and harassment. Responsibilities:
- Manage a substantial caseload of class action and PAGA wage and hour litigation matters
- Prepare and review pleadings, motions, written discovery, and class certification filings
- Perform in-depth legal research and draft high-level written advocacy, including dispositive and non-dispositive motions
- Work closely with senior attorneys and team members to develop and implement case strategy
- Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and corporate representatives
- Prepare for and attend mediations, settlement discussions, hearings, and court appearances
- Review and analyze employment-related documents such as payroll records, timekeeping data, and company policies relevant to claims
- Maintain communication with clients, class representatives, witnesses, opposing counsel, experts, and the court throughout litigation
- Oversee and delegate tasks to litigation support staff to ensure cases move forward efficiently
- Handle related employment litigation matters including discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination, and harassment when needed
- Ensure adherence to procedural requirements, court rules, and all litigation deadlines
- Maintain organized files and accurate documentation for all assigned matters
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
- Active and in good standing with the California State Bar
- At least 2 years of experience handling class action litigation, ideally within employment law
