Our client, a well-respected organization in Kern County, CA, is seeking a Controller to oversee their accounting and finance operations. This is a key leadership role with the opportunity to manage financial reporting, internal controls, and strategic financial planning.
Responsibilities
- Manage all accounting operations, including AP, AR, general ledger, and payroll
- Oversee month-end and year-end close processes and preparation of financial statements
- Develop, monitor, and report on budgets, forecasts, and financial performance
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal policies, and applicable regulations
- Implement and maintain internal controls and process improvements
- Collaborate with executive leadership to provide financial insights for decision-making
- Supervise and mentor accounting and finance staff
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred
- 5 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, with prior Controller experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning
- Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Salary: $130,000 – $150,000
