The Accountant II plays a key role in supporting financial operations by maintaining accurate ledgers, reconciling complex transactions, preparing financial reports, and assisting with audits and budgets. This position encompasses payroll, billing, accounts payable/receivable, taxes, permits, and collections, ensuring compliance with internal controls and organizational policies.
Key Responsibilities Of The Accountant II Role
- Maintain general, revenue, and expenditure ledgers; reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies
- Prepare journal entries, invoices, and weekly check runs to ensure accurate, timely payments
- Compile and analyze financial data to produce monthly, quarterly, and annual reports; assist with budget preparation and fiscal year-end audits
- Coordinate with internal departments and external agencies on financial matters, providing schedules and supporting documentation as needed
- Audit accounting systems and procedures for compliance with internal controls and policies
- Assist Finance Director with special projects, problem-solving, and the development of policies or procedures
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Proficiency with accounting systems and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
Salary : $65,000 - $75,000
