Overview:
Our association client is seeking a highly skilled and creative Video Editor / Videographer/Content Producer with a journalistic background to join their team in downtown Chicago on a hybrid basis (3 days onsite per week). This is a 40-hour-per-week contract role with the potential to convert to full time down the road. The client is looking for someone who is excited to help them overhaul their video strategy. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced content creator who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is comfortable owning projects from concept through delivery, and has a strong understanding of digital and social video storytelling.
Responsibilities:
- Shoot, edit, and produce high-quality video content for digital, social, and studio-based productions
- Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to develop video concepts aligned with brand and messaging goals
- Write scripts, plan storyboards, and structure videos from concept to final delivery (documentary, informational, educational, newsworthy etc. type of content)
- Operate and manage small studio setups, including lighting, audio, and camera equipment (client will provide all necessary equipment)
- Optimize video content for multiple platforms and formats, including short-form, long-form, and vertical video
- Stay current on social media trends, emerging video formats, and storytelling techniques
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality and speed
- Support video production needs during events, including occasional travel or flexible hours if required
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of experience in video production, editing, and content creation
- Proficiency with industry-standard video editing tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects
- Strong storytelling, scripting, and visual composition skills
- Experience creating content for digital and social platforms
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
- Strong communication and collaboration skills when working with stakeholders
Nice to Have:
- Background in news, journalism, or a media-driven environment
- Experience producing content under tight or breaking-news style deadlines
- Familiarity with video performance metrics and analytics
- Any experience producing podcasts is a plus
This is an exciting opportunity for a creative self-starter who is equally comfortable behind the camera and in the editing suite, and who enjoys collaborating while still owning their work end-to-end.
