Email Designer

Our Nashville financial services client is seeking an experienced Email Marketing Specialist with strong Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO) experience to support a new direct-to-consumer (DTC) initiative in a freelance capacity. 

This is an ongoing opportunity that is estimated to start in approximately one month and is expected to be around 20 hours per week, with flexibility based. Local Nashville candidates are preferred, though remote talent will be considered. 

The Email Marketing Specialist will focus on building and executing consumer-facing email campaigns within Adobe Journey Optimizer. The primary goal is to create emails that are visually engaging, easy to navigate, and drive user action, while remaining compliant within a highly regulated industry. 

The ideal candidate has deep AJO experience and a strong understanding of email design best practices within regulated industries. Experience with Marketo is highly preferred, as the team is currently leveraging both platforms and may expand responsibilities/hours for candidates with dual expertise. You will collaborate closely with a Creative Director and internal teams to execute within tight timelines. 

Responsibilities: 
- Design and build email campaigns within AJO 
- Create visually engaging, on-brand email layouts optimized for performance 
- Ensure all designs meet compliance and regulatory standards 
- Collaborate with internal teams to execute against campaign timelines Incorporate feedback efficiently through iterative revisions 
- Support landing page design as needed (bonus) 

Requirements: 
- Proven experience designing emails in AJO 
- Strong understanding of email design best practices and UX 
- Marketo experience strongly preferred 
- Experience designing landing pages is a plus 
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage feedback cycles 
- Comfortable working independently in a part-time, freelance environment
