Digital Project Manager

Our client in Carlsbad is hiring a Digital Project Manager to join their team. This role is 40 hours/week, long-term, and requires being onsite in the Carlsbad office in a hybrid capacity (in office Tues, Wed, and Thurs each week).

The Digital Marketing Project Manager role focuses on managing content workflows, coordinating cross-functional stakeholders, and executing content updates and publishing tasks - ensuring projects move forward smoothly and on time.

This is an execution-focused role ideal for someone with creative project management experience and hands-on familiarity with content management systems, rather than a pure content strategy or editorial leadership role.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Content & Creative Project Management

* Own day-to-day management of content and creative projects, from intake through delivery and publishing
* Manage project timelines, milestones, dependencies, and deliverables across multiple content streams
* Coordinate with internal partners (brand marketing, creative, product, web) to keep projects moving
* Facilitate content reviews and approvals, ensuring feedback is consolidated and timelines are met
* Identify risks, flag delays, and proactively problem-solve to keep work on track

Content Operations & Execution

* Build, update, and publish content (e.g., webpages, landing pages, blog posts, resource pages) within the company's CMSs (Magnolia and WordPress)
* Ensure content is published accurately, formatted correctly, and aligned to brand standards
* Maintain organized documentation of content statuses, workflows, and project details in project management tool (Jira)

Process & Workflow Support

* Manage content calendars, project plans, and status reporting
* Help enforce creative and content processes, templates, and best practices
* Improve efficiency by identifying gaps or bottlenecks in content workflows
* Manage vendor and agency relationships, including timelines and deliverables
* Ensure compliance with legal, privacy, and data protection requirements

 

REQUIREMENTS:

* Experience supporting marketing teams
* Experience supporting content updates tied to SEO, campaigns, or product
  launches
* Familiarity with content governance, approvals, or compliance workflows
* Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
* Hands-on experience working within content management systems (content entry, publishing, page building, etc.)
* Experience managing creative workflows (writers, designers, editors, stakeholders, SMEs)
* Highly organized, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven
* Comfortable managing timelines, documentation, and reporting
* Strong written and verbal communicator who can manage stakeholders and colleagues with confidence
* Self-sufficient and comfortable working independently once onboarded
* Calm under pressure and adaptable to shifting priorities
* Execution-focused, with a strong sense of ownership

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

* 5 years of experience in marketing project management, creative project management, or content operations
* CMS experience such as WordPress, Magnolia, Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), Contentful, or similar
* Project management tools (e.g., Asana, Monday.com, Workfront, Jira, Smartsheet, Trello)
* Basic understanding of web content structure, formatting, and digital best practices

In this position, you may have access to client or customer systems, confidential and/or proprietary information or data. This position is onsite and requires you to work closely with other individuals in a collaborative team environment.
