Our retail client is looking for a Creative Operations Manager! This REMOTE freelance role starts immediately, 40 hours a week, for 5-6 months.
The Creative Operations Manager will lead the creative development workstream for a full website redesign, owning how design, copy, and content move from brief to concept to final, approved assets.
Creative Operations Manager Responsibilities:
-Own the creative workback schedule for the website redesign (design, copy, content, UI components), aligning milestones to UX and engineering delivery plans.
-Build and manage the creative production workflow: intake, briefing, concepting checkpoints, review/approval cycles, version control, and final handoff.
-Partner with Brand/Creative and UX to ensure briefs translate into on-brand, user-centered creative that supports business goals and key journeys.
-Lead resourcing and capacity planning for designers, copywriters, and content producers; identify gaps early and recommend tradeoffs.
-Coordinate creative-to-development handoffs: specs, annotations, component usage guidance, copy decks, asset exports, and content entry requirements for the CMS.
-Manage agency and freelancer contributions as needed: scopes, briefs, timelines, review cycles, and final deliverable acceptance.
-Maintain operational artifacts for the creative workstream (creative backlog, status reports, risk/issue tracking) and keep stakeholders informed on progress and decisions.
-Support QA/UAT from a creative quality perspective (visual QA, content accuracy, brand consistency, accessibility checks) and coordinate revisions through approval.
Creative Operations Manager Requirements:
-5 years of experience leading large, cross-functional creative or marketing initiatives (multiple workstreams, complex timelines, and significant stakeholder groups).
-3 years of experience in creative operations, creative project management, integrated production, or a similar role within a brand/creative organization.
-Demonstrated experience managing creative development for a website redesign or major digital experience (design systems/components, page templates, content, and launch readiness).
-Experience with creative and project management tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, Asana/Jira/Monday.com) and collaborative review workflows.
